Define Studio is an architectural design studio with residential architecture and interior design as one of our primary focuses.

Good design is not about just following a style or trend, but about thoughtfully considering the user, the experience, the social context and the impact on the surrounding environment.

 

Define Studio was founded in 2011 by Mariëtte Gradwell, who began her career in 2005 and gained experience in various types of projects.  

 

Mariëtte has been involved with residential projects at Thesen Island (Knysna), Southdowns Estate (Irene), Waterkloof Heights Estate (Waterkloof), Heritage Hill (Centurion), Wierda Crest Estate (Centurion), Retire@Midstream (Midrand), The Hills (Garsfontein), Waterfall Country Estate (Midrand), Silverlakes Estate (Pretoria-East) and Waterlake Estate (Pretoria-East), among others.

 

She has previously gained experience with resort and leisure projects and has been involved in the interior design of a pathology laboratory in Centurion as well as recreational buildings in Kipoi Mine, Katanga Province, Democratic Republic of the Congo.
